![]() So really the issue is not high rep DL/PC/etc movements in metcons, the issue is athletes who let their form break down. I just cringe at some of the things I see with form when most people dead or pc high reps A couple of seconds is fine, standing up, shaking your hands, doing a backflip, sticking on an oxygen mask and then pulling another two reps and calling it a 3rm because you didn't leave the platform and it's still daytime outside is complete urine extraction. ![]() I like the "don't take the p!ss" approach. ![]() What's the consensus here ? For it to be called a true 3 or 5 RM, or 5+/3+ in wendler, what's the "rest" period between each rep ? Just enough to breathe (assuming it is done at top) without loosing tension or other? ![]() Not a bar touches the the elaborate reset of regrip, tension lost, 3 pysch-up breathes, one big one to regain tension, bend arms, drop butt etc and eventually go. I don't think you have to do pure touch-no-go for it to be a NRM but one should at least be continuously moving and tension is maintained - like bar touches ground, reset back/hips (which should already be set) and breathe then go (like 1-2s). There's also a difference between doing 3/5 singles and calling it a 3/5rm, versus an actual 3/5rm.
